draugr

draugr or aptrgangr ("he who walks again", or "one who walks after death") is a creature classified as an undead in Norse mythology. The original meaning of the word is ghost Old Norse and medieval literature clearly distinguishes draug sea-and-land draug. The Scandinavian contemporaries thought they lived in the tombs of the Viking warriors, using the bodies of the dead. As the graves of important men contained great wealth, the draugr jealously guarded their treasures, even after death.
